The nexus 4 made quite an entrance for Google and Its manufacturer LG by selling almost 3 million units. Matching up with other Google edition devices such as HTC One Google Edition and Galaxy S4 Google Edition, it was just a not-bad product and people would eventually choose the other ones as they had more high end hardware compared to the Nexus 4. But then again, what’s cheaper? The Nexus 4, exactly! Because quiet some time has gone by and no one has heard about the soon-expected-to-come Nexus 4 successor. Many Nexus fans have delayed their plans to buy the Nexus 4 as they thought of the potential of the successor, Nexus 4 coming in, but how much do we wait?
Well, we have nothing to our grasp except a few leaks that could come out to be anything in the future. But what the hell, right? Let’s start on what we could get our hands on related to everything we should know about the Nexus 5.
Manufacturer: LG again?
Nobody’s completely sure who the manufacturer to the nexus 5 might be, but according to rumors; if Google is already manufacturing the X phone for Motorolla, that we all thought was the Nexus 5 (It is not), It wouldn’t have Moto as a manufacturer for the Nexus 4 successor. So that means that moto’s out of the picture. The companies left for potential manufacturing are HTC, Sony, and Samsung. Which do you think would have the chance to manufacture the product? LG. why? I don’t know but sources say it’s to stay out of quarrels and lawsuits involved in phone giants.
Features:
The Nexus 4 is said to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. This isn’t even out yet. Although I strongly disagree with this, sources from google are steadfast in saying this. Also, leaks say the phone will be fed a healthy diet of 4 GB RAM. Wow! Along with a 13-16 MP camera that would be supported by a camera software surely better than the previous nexus devices. The Nexus 5 would have a theatrical 5 inch screen, 100% HD with LTE support and expandable memory.
Release Date:
Sources from Google have said less about the release date. But judging by a leak saying that the Nexus 5 has already been shown to Larry Page, it is safe to say the device might have the release date somewhere in November-December. But because Mr. Wong (A google official) says that they might not be even releasing a Nexus 5, not much hope can be seen for Nexus fans for the year.
Expected Price:
Although the features and expected design say that the Nexus device might cost more than a normal high end phone would, leaked information begs to differ. It is not information leaked by people close to Google, but many experts on this matter have found out that the device will cost around $100-$200. This is lesser than even a mid-range phone would be. It’s almost too good to be true, but who knows? Maybe Google just wants its users to have the best. But then again, we have to sit tight and see what happens. Only time will tell.
