It seems that hybrid cameras and phones are quite the fashion these days. You might know some people yourself, who either might have phones that mostly look like a camera or a camera that carries most qualities that a phone has. Proof? You have it all around you mate. With the release of magnificent high quality cameras and phone hybrids that produce crisp images and high end performance such as the Galaxy Camera, and the Galaxy S4 Zoom (both are cool hybrid types). Well, it didn’t take much time to seal up the confirmation of this new trend with the latest hybrid camera us Android fans are waiting so eagerly for. This, my friends, is none other than the Galaxy NX.

When I first took a peak at the wowing Android Camera on my Facebook newsfeed, for a second I mistook it as a DSLR. The body, the shape, the lens that the camera bears; it all looked like it was being taken to some wedding we’re photos were going to be snapped. But then I examined it with my silly eyes and realized that it was the camera that was due to be released by Samsung soon.
Will it be even good?
The Galaxy Nexus boasts its interchangeable lens and its latest version of Android 4.2. Taking 20.3 MP crisp, clear, and vibrant images with all sorts of options to edit it and reduce noise (though it will not be found). The mirrorless camera will surely not disappoint you with its vast range of camera options. One of the top rated options in the camera software is the Smart Mode. What it does is suggest modes to you on screen according to the lighting in the view. If you’re not that experienced in photography, this will prove to be helpful.

A notable physical change in the camera series is that the Galaxy NX uses a LCD screen where as the Galaxy camera (and other Samsung smartphones) use AMOLED screens. I think it’s because the AMOLED screen make the color fade out in the sun; the LCD will make the screen readable and therefore better than the AMOLED. Not only this, but you can have the best of both worlds and also use this device partly as a phone; it has LTE compatibility, Wifi and the most important feature of all; Google allows you to use the OS like any other smartphone by downloading apps, uploading your snapped photos online, chatting with your friends, all from one device thanks to Google.
Decision:
But, as the title of this article goes; is it good enough to replace a high end camera? Well, there’s a simple answer to that. If you’re more into taking crisp, crystal clear shots; then I would prefer that you stick to a good high end DSLR. But, if you just want GOOD pictures, not too much professional quality, AND if you want to stick to android and all the phone like features it offers; then I suggest you buy the Galaxy NX.
